Geoff talks about Jesus. What we know, how we know, and why it matters. He speaks in a way Aussies appreciate, and many have come to trust Jesus in life-changing ways. “People need Jesus, and He has more for us than we can imagine. So, I just try to introduce people to Him.”
An Outreach Specialist with OAC Ministries WA, Geoff regularly presents at schools, camps, homes, churches and all-age groups. He draws on first-hand experience of Jesus, study of the histories, visits to locations, and different people living out the same faith in different ways. His Core Stuff presentations are popular for camps, series and intensives. Others such as Boost, Worldview Australia, and Cheers Neighbours' Network, keep moving people forward in their relationships with Jesus.
Geoff began researching the foundations of Christianity as a teen, leading to a passion to follow Jesus in practice. He moved from Melbourne to Port Hedland to Perth, through labouring, truck driving & diesel fitting, to an honours degree in theology, to ordained Baptist ministry in WA. And after serving churches in South Perth and Craigie, he joined para-church organisation OAC Ministries in 1997. Geoff & Sally's four children were born between 2000 & 2004. They live on Perth's suburban fringe on a small bush block, with a menagerie of chickens, parrots, dogs, and a cat. “We have lots of people in our lives, and feel very rich indeed. It makes sense to share.”
The Good News is not new but often comes as news to many. Perhaps it was forgotten, misunderstood, or never heard. So Geoff works to present it as well as possible:
- Series of presentations, giving enough input for an informed decision, at camps, or over a week/end
- Showing it in his own life, home and neighbourhood
- Shaping presentations to match different contexts, with props, stories, multi-media, straight talk, games, art, Q&A...
